Oman-based Eihab Travels targets the luxury segment in India by organising a four-city roadshow.

Recently, Eihab Travels and its India representative SSR Travel Solutions (SSRTS) hosted a roadshow in Mumbai. Eihab Travels, one of Oman’s largest DMCs, has increased its concentration on the India market.

Dinesh Poojary, general manager of Eihab Travels, told TravelBiz Monitor on the margins of the event that India represents a tremendous opportunity as a source market for Oman. “When compared to the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries, Oman is a distinct kind of destination. It has a greater affinity for nature, and the country is known as the Switzerland of the GCC, according to Poojary. He also mentioned that travellers with credentials from the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, Australia, and Schengen countries can enter the country without difficulty. Poojary stated, “If you have a valid visa from any of these countries, you will receive a 10-day visa waiver.”

In addition, he stated that they offer round-trip transportation from Muscat to the outskirts, where tourists can experience the desert, mountains, etc. “The round-trip package is for 5 and 6 nights,” he said.

Regarding the target market, Eihab Travels concentrates on MICE, wedding, family, and FIT from India. “We are promoting Oman as a luxury destination in India,” said Poojary. He added that they had previously targeted the Indian market, but not to this extent. We have increased our emphasis on this market due to its enormous potential. “India’s outbound figure is quite impressive,” stated Poojary. Their target cities are currently Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. “In the next phase, North Indian cities and Kolkata will be our objective. We prioritise quality over quantity. Furthermore, Oman does not believe in excessive tourism, as Poojary noted.

Bainu Thomas, Manager-Operations at Eihab Travels, opined that it is necessary to devote more attention to this market. “We have been very successful on the European market for a very long time, but we have only recently recognised the potential of the Indian market. We are deciphering the trade perception that Oman is a unique and distinct destination compared to the GCC nations. “Oman is also well-known for its hospitality,” he said.
