  • In the event of rain, UPSRTC will use a quorum system for night buses.

Nearly all of Lucknow’s bus stations, including Awadh, Charbagh, and Alambagh, had a dearth of passengers as a result of the prolonged rain.
Officials from the Uttar Pradesh State Roadways and Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) in Lucknow reported a considerable drop in passenger numbers on Sunday, despite the fact that all highway buses continued to run during day and night hours during periods of heavy to light rain.

“During heavy rainfall and weekends, we often witness a substantial drop in revenue, sometimes exceeding 1 crore in losses,” said Ajit Singh, public relations officer (PRO) for the UPSRTC.

Nearly all of Lucknow’s bus stations, including Awadh, Charbagh, and Alambagh, had a dearth of passengers as a result of the prolonged rain.

RK Tripathi, the regional manager for Lucknow, stated: “While we did not cancel any buses, we did note a significant drop in customer turnout that day. As a result, we have decided that buses won’t run unless there are at least 25 passengers.

A minimum of 25 passengers must be on board for midnight buses to leave, according to the highways and transport corporation. “We have not yet called a meeting to discuss additional strategies for controlling buses and passenger demand during the upcoming wet days,” Tripathi continued.
