Crossing the 4-Lakh Mark in Amarnath Yatra Pilgrimage

As more than 2,500 devotees paid respects at the cave temple until midday on Tuesday, the total number of pilgrims who have participated in the Amarnath Yatra this year has surpassed four lakh, according to officials.

4,00,132 pilgrims completed the Yatra as a whole as of Tuesday noon, according to the officials.

With with a month left till the annual pilgrimage ends, this year’s Amarnath Yatra has already witnessed more pilgrims than the 3.65 lakh of last year.

Beginning on July 1 from the twin routes of Pahalgam in the Anantnag district and Baltal in the Ganderbal district, pilgrims made their yearly journey to the cave shrine of Amarnath in the south Kashmir Himalayas. On August 31, the yatra is supposed to come to an end.

According to the organisers, this year’s Yatra stood out for its flawless planning, steadfast support, and precise management, winning praise from all quarters and fostering unity among participants from various backgrounds.

The Yatra has also seen a notable increase in the number of foreign pilgrims visiting the sacred site this year. PTI
