For students only, the Kochi Metro has introduced a new travel card. Up to fifty trips could be taken with the “VIDYA 45” credit card in 45 days. This card allowed the students to travel anywhere.

The card could be purchased for Rs 495, so a single trip would only cost slightly less than Rs 10. Students can purchase the card at any metro station in the interim by presenting their identity cards issued by the relevant institutions.

The metro card is also available to those taking competitive exam preparation classes at one of the city’s many coaching facilities. They must present an undertaking that was issued by their institute and contains a photograph of the student.
