Pune For the 23.3 kilometer Pune Metro Line 3 project between Hinjewadi and Shivajinagar, the rail tracks have been installed, and on Friday the trial run started at Maan depot. Officials stated that the rail tracks will be installed on the Puneri Metro route following the completion of satisfactory preliminary testing at the depot.
“We have begun internal planning and preliminary discussion on the critical factors of total rail track requirements, their scaling, maintenance of these tracks, etc. for the Shivajinagar Metro’s 23.3 kilometer route. The actual work of laying rail track for the “Puneri Metro” project will begin if all criteria have been agreed upon, according to Alok Kapoor, CEO of Pune IT City Metro Rail Ltd.
November 2021 marked the beginning of construction on the Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro project by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) two years prior.
The testing rail lines marks a crucial milestone for the much anticipated line 3, nicknamed as “Puneri Metro”, connecting the IT powerhouse of Hinjewadi to central area of Pune city Shivajinagar.
Project partners AECOM (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Management) and SGS are in charge of the testing procedure.
