A session on eco and farm tourism during the “Tourism Summit and Travel Mart-2023” held in Mohali by the Punjab government highlighted the state’s rich agricultural legacy and natural beauty, making it an excellent destination for eco and farm tourism aficionados.
The session’s moderator, Prasad Rebbapragada, stated that the state’s Bhagwant Mann-led administration is committed to the comprehensive and sustainable development of the tourism industry, fostering job growth, and opening new doors to the economic prosperity of its citizens.
The purpose of this session is to promote ecotourism, adventure tourism, and lesser-known locations.
Amarindar Singh Chopra, CEO of Kikkar Lodge, participated in this session. He stated that Punjab and nature reserves have a tight link and that these reserves are crucial for the coexistence of people and animals as well as for aquaculture in the state.
Agriculture tourism innovator Pandurang Taware claimed that it has the potential to greatly boost farmers’ income.
Additionally, he emphasized the need to support female farmers and recognize the potential of agriculture tourism. According to travel writer Bindu Gopal Rao, the epidemic caused a significant change in people’s lifestyles and increased environmental consciousness.
