The Principal Secretary of the Home Department, Sanjay Prasad, signed an order on October 20 about the deployment of UPSSF at these airports, according to a senior home department official who made the announcement on Thursday.

A specialized devoted force modeled after the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), the Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force (UPSSF) will guard seven recently built airports at Ayodhya, Chitrakoot, Sonbhadra, Shravasti, Aligarh, Moradabad, and Azamgarh. Prior to the force’s deployment, the directive directs the U.P. Director General of Police (DGP) to ascertain the roles and responsibilities of the local police and the UPSSF in terms of security.

The UPSSF deployed its thirty employees to Lok Bhawan in Lucknow on September 1, 2022, marking the start of the organization’s operations. This force was created specifically to guard VIP facilities, various U.P. courts, airports, banks, and metro stations.
