A tranquil village in Palakkad’s Nelliyampathy range has been luring tourists from all over the globe for some time. Anand Mahindra, chairman of the Mahindra Group, recently included Kollengode on his list of India’s 10 most attractive villages. Kollengode is well-known as a popular filming location, and it is a quaint location that can soothe any tourist’s soul.

This magnificence has rendered me speechless…My India travel bucket list is now overflowing,” he wrote, sharing a list of the ten most attractive villages in India, which included Kollengode. From Himachal Pradesh to Arunachal Pradesh, various regions of India are featured on this list compiled by the ‘Colours of Bharat’ social media page.

The page had compiled a list of the ten most picturesque villages in India and shared their images on Twitter. On this list, Kalpa in Himachal Pradesh occupied the top position. The photographs of the other villages, including Mawlynnong in Meghalaya, Kollengode in Palakkad, Mathur in Tamil Nadu, Varanga in Karnataka, the Gorkha region in West Bengal, Jirang in Odisha, Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh, Mana in Uttarakhand, and Khimsar in Rajasthan, are also quite stunning.

The unsung beauty of Palakkad Kollengode, which represents Kerala on the list, is known as the home for many interesting spots like the Chinganchira nature temple, Seetharkund and Palakapandi waterfalls, Chellan chettan’s rustic tea shop, Kudilidam, Kollengode Palace, Govinda Mala Hills, abundant paddy fields, Bharathapuzha River’s tributory Gayathripuzha, traditional houses and agraharams.
