The historic Madhya Pradesh city of Khajuraho, once known as Kharjuravahaka, has a long history. Khajuraho is one of the most well-liked tourist attractions in Madhya Pradesh due to the magnificence of its statues and temples, which were constructed during the Middle Ages by the Chandela Dynasty. The majority of the nation’s medieval Hindu and Jain temples are found at Khajuraho, which is also known for its exquisite and occasionally controversial sculptures. The three groups of these temples are Eastern, Western, and Southern.

The Western group is home to temples including Lakshmana, Matangeshwara, Varaha, Kandariya Mahadev, Chitragupta, Parvati, Vishwanatha, and Nandi, and it is located close to the archaeological museum. Vamana, Javari, and Parsvanatha Temple are part of the Eastern Group, whereas Duladeo and Chaturbhuja Temple are part of the Southern Group. Along with these temples, Khajuraho is home to a number of other tourist destinations, including the Panna National Park, Raneh Waterfall, Kalinjar Fort, Dhubela Museum, and the Archaeological Museum of Khajuraho.
