According to a DGCA assessment, only 61% of SpiceJet flights from India’s four busiest airports—Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad—departure on time in the month of May. The second-largest airline in India, Air India, dropped from second to fifth in punctuality, experiencing nearly twice as many flight delays in May as compared to April. Akasa Air was the most punctual throughout the entire situation. However, a decline in performance has been observed. 93% of Akasa Air’s flights left on time. In May, IndiGo, the largest airline in India, had 90% of its flights depart on schedule. With 89.5% of its flights departing on time, Vistara came in fourth, while only 85% of Air Asia’s flights were on time.
