Since the airport’s winter schedule began on Sunday, only one new flight from Pune to Kishangarh has been operating.

This year’s attempt to link to new cities has failed due to a lack of reaction from aviation businesses. According to officials, there was a desire to begin air travel from Pune to Belgaum, Nashik, and other places, but the project could not be finished.

“The focus of the winter session is on expanding the fleet of aircraft. Santosh Dhoke, the director of the Pune airport, stated that there are plenty aircraft spaces available.

The Pune airport administration has expanded the number of slots this year in order to better serve travelers and improve connectivity to nearby towns. There are at least 218 spots available on Monday through Friday, 220 on Saturday, and 247 on Sunday.

The months of November through February are seen to be favorable for travel. As a result, the administration only schedules the winter season at this time. Its main goal is to increase the quantity of airplanes. 218 flights are scheduled to depart from Pune between Monday and Friday this season. Officials stated that the daily passenger count is probably going to approach 40,000.

The airlines have concentrated on servicing major cities in the interim. There will not be more than 100 flights each day in the winter. One or two cities will also begin to receive service under the Udan program.

Ten slots, five for takeoff and five for landing, are available at the Pune airport each hour of the day. At night, there are seven landings and seven takeoffs every hour. Taking into account the flow of its planes, the Air Force turned down the airport authority’s petition for 20 slots each day.
