The 139.04-acre Tattoo Ground in Srinagar, where the Army will totally withdraw all of its troops, will soon be made available for tourist activities.
An official spokesman stated that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the transfer of the Tattoo Ground to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) was signed by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Home Affairs via the Government of UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
The J&K government has decided to build the first-ever Amusement Park on the prime property, which the army would be leaving vacant, in order to promote tourism. Within 120 days, the MoD will turn over the land to the J&K government.
The J&K government established a committee in May of this year to review proposals for the construction of a “world-class” amusement park at Tattoo Ground.
