Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha made the announcement on Tuesday that the legendary cricket player Sourav Ganguly would serve as the state’s tourism ambassador. The issue was discussed between Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and Ganguly at the latter’s home in Kolkata.
The chief minister added that he had spoken with Ganguly over the phone and that he was optimistic that Ganguly’s involvement in the promotions will boost tourism in the state.
“It’s a matter of great pride that former captain of the Indian cricket team Sourav Ganguly has accepted our proposal to be the Brand Ambassador of Tripura Tourism,” Saha wrote on Facebook.
