This week, U.S. News & World Report published its yearly ranking of the 150 “Best Places to Live in the U.S.”

“The ideal blend of big-city amenities complemented with a Midwestern, small-town feel,” the magazine said of Green Bay.

Along with being the home of the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League, the city also “boasts a thriving entertainment and arts scene, revitalised downtown, and two college campuses, creating an energy that may appeal to young families as well as retirees.”

After ranking the 150 largest metropolitan areas in the US, Huntsville, Alabama came in second, behind only Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, Boulder, Colorado, and Sarasota, Florida.

This year, Puerto Rico, a tropical island, ranks last on the list.

Five Florida cities made up the top 25, while North Carolina and Colorado each had three cities. The top 25 are listed in order of best

  5. Sarasota, Fla.
  6. Naples, Fla.
  7. Portland, Maine
  8. Charlotte, N.C.

  11. Madison, Wisc.
  12. Boise, Idaho
  13. San Jose, Cali.
  14. Ann Arbor, Mich.
  15. Melbourne, Fla.
  16. Jacksonville, Fla
  17. Albany, N.Y.
  18. Myrtle Beach, S.C.
  19. Des Moines, Iowa
  20. Grand Rapids, Mich.
  21. Knoxville, Tenn.
  22. Syracuse, N.Y.
  23. Fort Collins, Colo.
  24. Tampa, Fla.
