  • Sankash's Results Illustrate Shifts In Indian Travel Preferences

Urban people all around the country have taken notice of a captivating trend that Sankash, the top travel fintech platform in India, has announced. Sankash has noticed a striking increase in travel bookings as the nation’s capital, New Delhi, gets ready for a planned closure from September 8 to 10. During this brief break, people and families are taking advantage of the chance to relax and smoothly juggle work and pleasure.

A magnetic attraction toward domestic travel locations grows stronger as the impending extended weekend is anticipated more and more. Puducherry stands out among these alluring possibilities, winning the hearts of a large 40% of domestic travelers with its tasteful fusion of history and peace. Additionally, Daman & Diu’s seaside allure and calm atmosphere account for a significant 30% of domestic bookings. Goa lures in adventure seekers and wanderers, luring 11% of tourists with its unique activities that cater to a range of tastes.

The captivating scenery of Sikkim and Kerala’s tranquil backwaters continue to leave their imprint. These popular locations represent the diverse tourism environment of India, where each region has a special allure and promises fantastic escapes throughout the approaching holiday weekends.

People are looking for creative solutions to meet their professional commitments while enjoying a change of scenery as remote work becomes more common. Sankash’s research shows that an increasing number of people are taking advantage of this special circumstance by temporarily shifting to alternate locations for a rejuvenating three-day break.

According to Akash Dahiya, Co-Founder and CEO of SanKash, “we’re observing an exciting trend where people are using the Delhi shutdown as an opportunity to escape the routine and explore new environments without sacrificing their work commitments.” This represents a significant shift in how people view travel—it’s no longer only about taking vacations but also about finding work-life balance in beautiful places.

The traveler demographics spin an intriguing tale of a wide range of travelers. Couple travelers are woven into the fabric, coordinating an astounding 42% of reservations. Within this group, people between the ages of 22 and 45 welcome the chance to set out on joint travels and explore new landscapes with their spouses. Additionally, a significant 30% of reservations are made by solo travelers. They etch their paths of exploration, embodying the emerging trend of independent, youthful discovery, and are represented by lone travelers between the ages of 18 and 45.

Family and friend groups, which account for 28% of bookings, add to the mosaic’s richness. This section emphasizes how deeply important communal travel is to Indian tourists. These demographics combined help to create the colourful mosaic of travel preferences present throughout the nation, illuminating the many different ways people choose to interact and enjoy India’s unique landscapes.
