An official statement claims that on Tuesday, debris on the Badrinath National Highway blocked the road between Nandaprayag and Pursari.
A large amount of debris was visible on the road in the images Chamoli Police posted on social media from the scene.
Additionally, the Badrinath National Highway was blocked near Navodaya Vidyalaya Peepalkoti, according to the police, because of the accumulation of debris.
Prior to Monday’s rainfall near Gauchar town in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district, a 70-metre stretch of the National Highway was damaged, which had an impact on traffic.
Following the breach, representatives from the relevant departments hurried to open the road to traffic as soon as possible.
The National Highway in Kameda, close to Gauchar, was shut down because of a breach that covered about 70 metres of the road. An official had stated that “the affected departments and executive bodies are working on a war footing to restore normal traffic movement on the road as soon as possible.”
The officials added that traffic on this route for commuters and vehicles heading to Badrinath Dham will be suspended for the following two to three days.
