An important step in its ongoing integration with Air India Express was announced by AIX Connect, doing business as AirAsia India and a subsidiary of Air India. Now that the airline has received regulatory approval, it can operate its flights as “Air India Express.” The integration efforts, including the synchronisation of customer touch points, products, and services across both airlines, have advanced significantly as a result of this development.
Prior to the upcoming planned legal merger of the two entities, the regulator’s approval permits both Air India Express Ltd. and AIX Connect flights to be marketed, distributed, and operated under the common brand name “Air India Express.” The plan to combine consumer offerings under a single, updated brand in the coming months shows a dedication to a superior customer promise, streamlining product and service standards and releasing synergies between the two businesses.
Air India Express and AirAsia India have made significant progress towards integration over the past few months. The airlines unveiled an integrated website in March called airindiaexpress.com. It offers a thorough user interface and allows users to access services from both carriers on a single platform, streamlining the travel process.
In an effort to improve the in-flight experience, Air India Express recently debuted the popular ‘Gourmair’ in-flight dining menu from AirAsia India, which features a variety of delectable hot meals, lite bites, and desserts. Priority boarding, check-in, and baggage services were made available to passengers of both airlines earlier this month as part of the ‘Xpress Ahead’ ancillary add-on programme. In addition, a variety of other ancillary add-on services and related sub-brands will be coordinated by both airlines.
In order to give customers more choices for travel, AIXL and AIXC currently operate flights from 20 Indian cities to 14 regional international destinations while each airline also serves 19 domestic locations.
