India Remains Turkey’s Major Source Market for Ciragan Palace

Experienced hospitality expert Ralph Radtke, GM & Regional VP, Ciragan Palace, Kempinski Hotels, recently visited during the multi-city Kempinski Hotels roadshow in Mumbai and New Delhi. He discussed the potential of the Indian market and hosting the first Indian wedding in Turkey 12 years ago.

In an interview with TravelBiz Monitor, Radtke stated, “Over the past ten years, many Indian weddings have taken place at the Ciragan Palace Kempinski Istanbul, which is directly on the Bosphorus. I hosted the first Indian wedding in Turkey more than 12 years ago, and ever since then I have made two trips to India to promote destination weddings. Every year, 15% of all weddings in Turkey are from India. Along with Indians, our biggest markets are Iranians and Pakistanis who reside outside of their home countries. India is still one of our main source markets.

The 317 rooms and suites at the Ciragan Palace are known for their historical past. Over 1,000 guests have attended Indian weddings held on the property. According to Radtke, Indian wedding guests typically stay three days. “In collaboration with Turkish Airlines, we will host FAM trips for agents and social media influencers in addition to taking part in wedding shows. This is a crucial element of our plan.
