One of the busiest locations on the Pune-Nashik Highway is Chakan Chowk. Because of the heavy traffic, people who work in the industrial area have difficulty there.

The district administration has made the decision to move the PMPML and MSRTC bus stops, as well as the majdoor adda, from the area in order to relieve the frequent traffic congestion at Chakan Chowk on the major Pune Nashik Road.

One of the busiest intersections on the Pune-Nashik Highway is Chakan Chowk. Because of heavy traffic, those who work in the industrial area have issues there.

Because so many well-known automakers have offices in Chakan, there is a lot of everyday motor traffic in the neighborhood.

Due to the intersection of the Talegaon and Pune Nashik Highways, two major highways, travelers to the Chakan MIDC area lose time due to traffic.

Amit Patil, who works in Chakan MIDC for a global corporation, stated, “I go to Chakan every day from Pune. I used to travel in my own car, but I started using the company’s transportation because of traffic jams. It is imperative that the traffic issues at Chakan Chowk be resolved.

To address the traffic issue at these two major chowks, a committee headed by Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao has been formed in light of this.

The Divisional Commissioner met with a number of departments involved in the industry regions, traffic police, local government, and representatives of the industry last week.

In order to help with traffic clearing, the industry representatives and locals made various recommendations and pushed for the PMPML and MSRTC bus stops to be moved from Chowk.

The decision to move the PMPML and ST bus stations from the intersection to neighboring localities was approved by Divisional Commissioner Rao.

Additionally, he gave the relevant authorities instructions to clear the encroachments from this chowk.

“After the meeting with all stakeholders, we have decided to relocate the PMPML and MSRTC bus stops from the Chakan Chowk to free up the junction,” he stated in response to the development. In addition, the majdoor adda will be moved to a neighboring area. To further facilitate traffic flow, we will be enforcing strict measures against encroachments in the area.
