Noriah Jaafar assumes leadership as director of Malaysian tourism Mumbai.

Noriah Jaafar has been chosen by Tourism Malaysia as its Director for India, and she will be located at its Mumbai office.

She assumed control last week. She has played a key role in promoting and growing Malaysia’s thriving tourism and travel business. She is a dynamic leader at the forefront of the industry. She has a distinguished academic background, a wealth of experience, and has continuously shown great leadership abilities throughout her career.

In 2002, she joined Tourism Malaysia as an Assistant Director in the Convention Division, which marked the beginning of her professional career. She has held a variety of positions as a result of her hard work and competence, including director of Tourism Malaysia’s Stockholm office in Sweden from October 2014 to March 2017, where she oversaw activities across Europe. She has also had expertise handling the markets in Thailand and Myanmar for close to two years.

Noriah Jaafar has also exhibited outstanding linguistic abilities throughout her career, excelling in both Malay and English. Additionally, she speaks Korean and Mandarin fluently.

She is a Malaysian native who was raised in Pontian, Johor, and has always loved to travel. She set out on a quest to broaden her knowledge and abilities after earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) in 2001. At MARA University of Technology (UiTM), Noriah earned a master’s degree in tourism management in 2012.

Jaafar is currently in charge of promoting Malaysia as a top travel destination in his capacity as Director of Tourism Malaysia Mumbai. Her devotion and vision have made her a powerful force in the tourism industry. She will continue to contribute to the development and success of Malaysia’s tourist industry with her vast experience and leadership skills.
