BMRCL’s New QR Group Ticketing System for Namma Metro Can Help You Avoid Queues
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has implemented a QR group ticketing system to help families and groups traveling on Namma Metro and to cut down on wait times at ticket kiosks in metro stations. This facility will open for business on November 16.
Six passengers can use the group tickets at once. BMRCL made an announcement. “BMRCL is introducing mobile QR Tickets to facilitate family/group traveling together for a maximum of 6 passengers, based on demand. This will take effect on November 16, 2023. There is a five percent token fare discount for mobile QR tickets.
The traveler who purchased the group ticket will receive a QR code, which they can scan at the metro gate to find out how many people they purchased tickets for. “The individual utilizing this service will be given a single QR ticket that is encrypted with the total number of passengers.” Each member of the group must scan this QR ticket once in order to enter and depart. The notification went on, “Passengers are encouraged to book mobile QR Tickets in advance at the convenience of their home or office and to avoid standing in line at the ticket counters to purchase tokens.”
