In light of the three-train collision in Balasore, Odisha, on Friday evening, the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has instructed airlines to take measures in case there is an unusual increase in airfares to and from Bhubaneswar.
Additionally, MoCA encouraged airlines not to charge fees for changing or canceling reservations.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation issued a statement in which it said that all airlines should monitor any unusual spike in airfares to and from Bhubaneswar and other airports in the state and take appropriate action in response. This advice was made in light of the terrible tragedy in Odisha.
“Further, any cancellation and rescheduling of flights due to the incident may be done without penal charges,” it continued.
