Minor Hotels Excited to Sign More Hotel Deals in India

Minor Hotels is open to investigating more attractive transactions in this sector after making its entry into India with hotels in Bodh Gaya and most recently in Jaipur.

Marion Walsh Hedouim, vice president of communications and public relations for Minor Hotels, stated this week that the company is “certainly interested” in India and is searching for greenfield prospects or conversion options for its eight brands. Last month, our CEO visited India to engage with potential business partners. Minor hasn’t been Mumbai since before Covid, so this is the perfect opportunity to get back in touch with the industry. We recently made a launch announcement for Jaipur. India is Thailand’s top source market, so we are interested in the outgoing traffic from this country. Bangkok, Thailand serves as the corporate home of Minor Hotels.

The Minor Hotels in Thailand provide options for organising destination weddings, while a new opening in Jaipur will serve the domestic wedding segment in India, according to the speaker when discussing the visitor segments. “We have hotels suitable for Indian MICE clients and weddings.”

Commenting on the acquisition of the NH Hotels brand, Hedouim claimed that it had provided a three-fold advantage, including geographic diversification in Europe and Brazil, a gateway for Asian travellers to experience European hospitality, and a foothold in the corporate market since Minor is a brand heavily focused on leisure. “We are looking at cross-over hotel opportunities.”
