Launch of the Jatayu Cruise Service in Ayodhya

The two-story, air-conditioned cruise ship was constructed in Gujarat and measures 45 feet long by 15 feet broad. It was transported from Gujarat to Delhi and subsequently to Ayodhya.
Jaiveer Singh, the state’s minister of tourism and culture, on Friday inaugurated a boat service on the Saryu in the pilgrimage center of Ayodhya.

The cruise, known as “Jatayu,” would start at Naya Ghat and end at Naya Ghat after traveling a total of 18 kilometres. The cruise ship will finish its journey in between one and a half and two hours and can carry about 70 guests at once.

Four Journeys

The cruise’s first trip will depart about 4.30 am and end at 6.30 am, followed by trips from 11 am to 1 pm, 4.30 pm to 6 pm, and 6.30 pm to 8 pm.

According to Jaiveer Singh, the cruise staff will also inform visitors about the historical and other facts of the ghats during the trip. He also mentioned that refreshments will be provided.

The voyage

A short film on Lord Ram and Ayodhya will be screened to passengers at various points during the trip. Passengers will learn about the history of the temple town from the movie.

Ayodhya Cruise Lines Pvt Limited’s managing director, Rahul Sharma, announced that the second such service, Garud, would be implemented within a month.

He added that another cruise service, called “Pushpak Viman,” with 150 seats, would be launched by the end of this year.
