Flights took off without passengers who were caught in the airport’s congested lines.

After a power outage on Wednesday, Ryanair customers reported waiting in long lines at Manchester Airport while watching their aircraft take off.

Yesterday, passengers waited in long lines after a power outage caused major delays and disruptions. (Bruce Moran) One customer even saw their aircraft take off without them as they stood in the long line outside the airport.

Shortly before 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Manchester Airport experienced a power loss, resulting in considerable problems with check-in and boarding.

According to the Manchester Evening News, one traveller said she arrived at the airport at 7 a.m., three hours before her 10 a.m. Ryanair flight to Tenerife, but missed it because she was detained checking in her bags.

The airport’s power went out when I was going to check my bags, so here I am. Away goes the plane. We don’t even know what to do! There has been no one to give us advice. “Today is my birthday!” Megan, an irritated traveller, used to Twitter to vent her frustrations.

Flights took off without some passengers, they reported.
Tom McKenna reported being in “absolute chaos” and having his “Ryanair flight fly over my head as I’m queuing outside terminal 3.” Extreme shame…should be embarrassed by their actions.

Another passenger, Laurie Marie, stated that travellers who had missed their Ryanair flights were advised to return the next day in order to take another trip.
