The enchantment of Lake Como’s little towns
Visitors flock to Lake Como’s Lario every year. The many picturesque towns that dot its shores are no doubt a big part of the cause for this adoration. These settlements, easily accessible by boat, vehicle, or bike, are true gems where one can easily unwind, enjoy wonderful food and the ambiance, and spend a few hours they will never forget. Here is a small sampling of the many charming villages that await you in this region.
Varenna
One of the most picturesque and romantic towns around Lake Como is Varenna. Villa Cipressi, Villa Monastero, the Vezio Castle, and the Church of San Giorgio may all be found at Varenna, in addition to the lakeside promenade.

There is a little town called Bellano on the eastern side of Lake Como. The Orrido, a waterfall in a canyon, draws tens of thousands of tourists each year who are mesmerised by its beauty and spectacularness and make the trip to the area specifically to see it.

Laglio is a little village on the western bank of Lake Como, but it has gained international fame thanks to George Clooney’s acquisition of the Villa Oleandra. You can see Frank’s Pyramid, the Bear Hole Cave, the Crucifix of Torriggia, and a few different mansions.
Menaggio
The town of Menaggio sits in the valley of the same name on the western edge of Lake Como. Attractions in the area include the castle, the trenches atop Mount Crocetta, and the villas of Vigoni and Valsecchi as well as the churches and bell towers of San Carlo and Santo Stefano.
