Passengers flying through Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport) will now have a new method to experience the airport with the introduction of ‘BLR Pulse’, a personalised digital travel companion that caters to their needs.
The operator of BLR Airport, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), in collaboration with GrayMatter Software Services, has developed the omnichannel platform BLR Pulse.
This app alleviates common pre-travel apprehensions like long security queues, wait periods, etc. It enables passengers to navigate within the terminal buildings and take charge of their voyage during departures and arrivals by providing real-time information about the airport, BIAL said in a statement on Monday.
BLR Pulse provides real-time updates on various passenger processing interfaces, such as entry gates, check-in counters and security check areas, as well as flight status updates delivered directly to passengers’ mobile or email inboxes.
In addition, the ‘WayFinder’ feature enables passengers to simply navigate the airport. BIAL stated that passengers can schedule a transit hotel for a brief stay or complete last-minute flight check-ins.
Hari Marar, president and chief executive officer of BIAL, commented on the new service, “The BLR Pulse app makes travelling through BLR Airport easier. The goal is to assist passengers plan their trips on the go, prior to their arrival at the airport.
BLR Pulse will be a centralised solution for passengers, enabling them to: Monitor flight schedules and receive flight status updates; Get real-time info on airport queues at various touchpoints; Make restaurant reservations, order food, pick it up at the store, or have it delivered to the gate; Among other things, it was asserted to identify and recover lost items.
