The Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) launched an 11-day refresher course at the Katra temple on Wednesday in an attempt to improve and hone the abilities of its priests.
In the presence of Umesh Sharma, sub-divisional magistrate Bhawan, head pujari, and other dignitaries, Murli Manohar, vice chancellor of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, solemnly launched the course.

Thirty-one priests will receive the refresher training in two batches. The course will cover specific rituals, mantras, and practices that a priest must learn in addition to a highly focused and professional approach to their “pujan vidhi.”
“Karma Kaand,” “Upasna Kaand,” “Gyan Kaand,” “Suktas,” “Stotras,” and “Sandhya Vandan” are some of the primary training materials.
