An exclusive vegan river cruise on the Ganges has been introduced by Antara Cruises, departing round-trip from Kolkata, India, from September 6–16. Bandel, Kalna, Matiari, Khushbagh, Baranagar, Murshidabad, Mayapur, Chandernagore, and the Sundarbans will all be visited on the 11-day “Princely Murshidabad & Secrets of Sundarbans Special Vegan Cruise” on the Ganges Voyager.
On board the ship, which will pass through regions where European settlers formerly built East Indian firms and left behind remains of their settlements from the 17th to the 19th century, there will be a fully vegan kitchen, wines, personal items, and housekeeping supplies.
The journey from September 6–16 will be full with historical sites, including ancient colonial palaces and battlefields that border the Ganges River’s banks.
Passengers can take part in a panoramic guided tour in Kolkata, and in Kalna, they can ride an electric rickshaw through the city centre to the Rajbari complex, which has the greatest number of temples in the area.
The Sundarbans National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site that is home to the biggest delta mangrove forest in the world, will allow passengers to engage with a naturalist about its environment.
