A Medical Vacation Summer tourism, according to reports, will be very busy.

CALGARY, AB – A Medical Vacation According to forecasts, this summer in southeast Alberta will be quite busy.

The Medicine Hat Destination Marketing Organisation presented their research to the city council on May 15.

It revealed that 35% of Albertans who plan to travel this summer are likely to make a stop in Medicine Hat or the southeast region of the province.

It’s safe to assume that the average Albertan will take several trips during the year. Jace Anderson, director of Tourism Medicine Hat, predicts many shorter stays or trips.

Hiking and biking paths, canoeing, and dark sky watching are all major draws for visitors to Medicine Hat, according to the study.

Tourists are drawn to the city, the study found, in part because of its rich cultural heritage and diverse dining options.

Greater emphasis has been placed by Tourism Medicine Hat on luring and keeping visitors from larger cities such as Calgary and Edmonton.

Anderson claims that Medicine Hat hotels are seeing an increase in guests from nearby Edmonton.

We’ve made a concerted effort to appeal to Edmonton locals’ thought processes because we think that after five or six hours on the road, they’ll be open to the idea of stopping by, no matter if it’s their final goal or merely a stop along the way. And if they’re thinking about us, there’s a chance they’ll stay the night and hang around, rather than just drive through as they might have in the past.

This year, the city may see as many as nine thousand extra guests due to a huge Jehovah’s Witness convention.

A Medical Vacation According to Hat, the region is a full year ahead of Destination Canada’s tourist estimates issued in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak.
