The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) have placed the Bikaner and Kishangarh airports in Rajasthan up for bidding in order to start new competitions. This is expected to increase air connectivity to these airports from other parts of India.
An official stated that the development occurred after the resident commissioner of the Rajasthan government in New Delhi met with the secretary of the Union Ministry to discuss the expansion and development of airports in the state.
Dhiraj Srivastava, commissioner of the Rajasthan Foundation, stated that Bikaner and Kishangarh airports were included in the tendering process for the launch of new flight services. The Rajasthan Foundation is a government organisation that addresses the requirements and concerns of non-resident Rajasthanis (NRR).
The bid process will continue until July 15.” As a result of the meeting between the resident commissioner in Delhi and the secretary of the union minister of civil aviation, Srivastava anticipates that airlines will operate more flights from these two airports by August 15th.
Following the foundation’s request to the Chief Minister to accelerate efforts to improve aviation connectivity to the cities of Rajasthan, a meeting was held in Delhi.
Currently, one flight is operated at Kishangarh and Bikaner airports, which is also irregular, he said, adding that international flights should be operated from Udaipur Airport due to the large number of tourists and celebrities.
“There is one flight from Kishangarh to Surat, and one flight from Bikaner airport to Delhi. Additionally, the flight operations are irregular. Given the state’s high tourism potential, increased air connectivity to the state’s numerous destinations will be of great benefit,” he said.
Srivastava stated that a joint team from the state government and AAI will visit Sriganganagar airport in order to examine some technical issues so that flights can be resumed.
