The Sarai at Toria near Khajuraho and Panna in Madhya Pradesh, as well as The Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge in Nepal, received the ‘A Hero’s Journey’ Award at the inaugural RARE India Conscious Travel Awards in recognition of their extraordinary journey and efforts to address the sustainability solution challenge. The awards presentation took place at The Claridges New Delhi as part of The RARE Showcase 2023, the organization’s premier annual event.
The ‘Best RARE Hotel 2023’ title was given to Chanoud Garh in the Pali district of Rajasthan. The Lodge at Wah in Palampur won the prize for the “Best RARE Destination Story 2023” in recognition of its efforts to promote travel to the Kangra region in Himachal Pradesh, while Mr. Bhupendra Singh, proprietor of Premkunj in Udaipur, was chosen as the “Best RARE Hotelier 2023.” Some of India’s top travel brokers and itinerary planners voted to choose the winners in these three categories.
The RARE Conscious Travel Awards were established to draw attention to the outstanding efforts made by hotels and experiences in cutting-edge locales that personify sustainability, authenticity, and responsible travel and serve as models for the industry going forward. These honours recognise trailblazers who go above and beyond to combine exceptional experiences with a strong dedication to maintaining cultures, assisting local people, and safeguarding the environment. It’s not just about being opulent; it’s also about being considerate and creating a good impression wherever we go.
