According to the most recent information, the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi may soon be expanded to include two international terminals.
At this time, the only facility that is able to handle foreign flights is Terminal 3 at the IGI airport. On the other hand, extensive improvements of Terminal 1 (T1) at IGI are currently underway and are scheduled to be completed by September 2023 at the latest. The Terminal 1 of the Delhi Airport can begin operating international flights once renovations are complete.

Because of the existing circumstances, it is becoming increasingly difficult for people to move about the airport from one terminal to another using automated movers (also known as air trains). There have been occasions when passengers have arrived at the incorrect terminal and been forced to make a mad dash to the terminal that was intended for them.
