During his Thursday visit to the Karatarpur Sahib, the nation’s interim federal religious minister, Aneeq Ahmad, lay the project’s foundation stone.
Pakistan has begun building a cultural theme park at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib (Kartarpur Corridor) in an effort to draw more visitors to the important Sikh shrine.
Aneeq Ahmad, the interim federal religion minister of the nation, lay the project’s foundation stone on Thursday during his visit to Karatarpur Sahib. He also spoke with Indian Sikh pilgrims who were coming and inquired about the gurdwara’s amenities.
The Project Management Unit (PMU) Kartarpur Corridor launched the theme park in association with a private business. Iqbal Sindhu, a representative of Homeland Group, stated to PTI on Friday that the project’s initial phase will be finished in six months. However, it will take three years for the entire project to be finished.
Sidhu stated that the Cultural Theme Park’s restaurants, food street, play area, cultural music arena, and stores would all be finished and ready for the arrival of pilgrims in the first phase.
The park will feature a variety of enticing amenities, including a water park, mini zoo, heritage club, regional sports center, heritage village, cottages & resorts, and even a circus, in addition to housing joy land attractions, rides for families and children, food streets, restaurants, and heritage shops, he said.
As part of the celebration of Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary, the corridor was opened on November 9, 2019, by the then-prime minister Imran Khan.
Indian Sikh pilgrims can travel to the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib without a visa thanks to the 4 km-long Kartarpur Corridor. At the beginning of the 16th century, Baba Guru Nanak, the founder of the Sikh religion, resided and passed away here.
