  • Jewar Airport's First Test Flight is Probably in March of Next Year - Starfish Travel Corporation

Officials aware of the situation have stated that the first test flight from the Noida International Airport will probably take off as early as March 2024, months before its anticipated opening by the end of the year.

According to the officials cited above, representatives of the Union Home and Civil Aviation Ministries met with the government of Uttar Pradesh last week to discuss the development plan for the new airport, which is anticipated to relieve airport congestion in the national Capital and open up new connectivity options for areas of western Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

According to one of the officials who requested anonymity, “The airport is currently undergoing runway layering work and will begin installation of air navigation services from December,” Neha Tripathi of HT reports. In March, the airport’s airside will be completed, at which point a test flight can be conducted.

“The meeting was held to discuss recent developments in immigration and security. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will guard the airport, despite the fact that a formal order has not yet been issued, a second officer at the Union home ministry said on the condition of anonymity, citing discussions on July 21.

In the Gautam Budh Nagar district, at Jewar, the airport is being constructed. The airport will be fully operational by the end of 2024, with one terminal building, one runway, and a 12 million passenger annual capacity, according to the airport operator.
