The 11.10-kilometer route’s services, according to CIDCO, are being made available to the general public without a formal plan. “On Friday, at 3 p.m., the metro service between Pendhar and Belapur Terminal and Belapur Terminal to Pendhar will begin. It will end at 10 p.m.
Mumbai Navi: With the announcement by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) that it will start operating commercially on November 17, the wait for the Navi Mumbai metro has finally come to an end. In the best interests of regular people, chief minister Eknath Shinde instructed the planning department to start construction on Line Number 1 between Belapur and Pendhar. This led to the decision being made.

The 11.10-kilometer route’s services, according to CIDCO, are being made available to the general public without a formal plan. “The first metro service between Pendhar and Belapur Terminal and Belapur Terminal to Pendhar will start at 3 p.m. on Friday and run until 10 p.m. Starting on November 18, there will be six morning services between Pendhar and Belapur Terminal, and ten evening services between Pendhar and Belapur Terminal. 15 minutes will be the frequency, according to CIDCO.

“The rates are as follows: ₹10 for up to two kilometers, ₹15 for two to four kilometers, ₹20 for four to six kilometers, ₹25 for six to eight kilometers, ₹30 for eight to ten kilometers, and ₹40 for travel times longer than ten kilometers,” the statement continued.

On November 17, the eagerly awaited metro services between Belapur and Pendhar will launch on line 1. Warmest congrats to all Navi Mumbai residents. CIDCO was instructed by the Maharashtra government to get the metro running as soon as possible for the people of Navi Mumbai. Metro services are therefore starting now without waiting for an official public program,” the CM stated.

Notably, the metro route was finished and approved for use quite some time ago, but it was allegedly being held up by the state government until Prime Minister Narendra Modi could officially open it.

“Inside Navi Mumbai, the metro services will offer improved connectivity. In the Mumbai Metropolitan Area, the government wants to construct a robust metro network. In Navi Mumbai, CIDCO is putting the metro network into place quite skillfully, Shinde added.

Anil Diggikar, managing director and vice chair of CIDCO, stated that line 1 will guarantee improved connectivity for CBD Belapur as well as the quickly emerging Kharghar and Taloja nodes.

According to Diggikar, it will improve and streamline Navi Mumbai’s public transportation system and bolster the city’s standing as a global hub.

There are eleven stations on the metro network that runs between Belapur and Pendhar, and the depot is situated in Taloja Panchanand.

Kharghar resident Deepak Sudhija, who pays almost ₹12,000 a month for auto fare alone, expressed his relief at the launch of metro services. “In 2018, I moved to Kharghar’s sector 35 from sector 27 due to its close proximity to the Metro. Although it’s possible to walk to the station, the project kept getting delayed. Financially, it is a huge relief that metro services are finally starting, as commuting here is expensive.
