Kerala intends to support efforts for environmentally friendly and sustainable tourism in well-known and up-and-coming tourist locations.
As part of this strategy, e-auto and bicycle safaris will be made available to some tourists taking part in the Responsible Tourism (RT) Mission packages at various locations. RT Mission will carry out the project with the assistance of the local self-government entities.

In order to ensure economic and environmental accountability, the RT Mission has an ambitious strategy to adopt an RT protocol in every destination, according to Rupesh Kumar, State Coordinator of the RT Mission.

“We can’t suddenly switch to green travel, but the Mission is hopeful of encouraging a certain percentage of tourists who travel as part of the Responsible Tourism packages to travel green by promoting e-autos and bicycling by empowering local women groups in particular destinations,” said Kumar.
