Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, stated that the number of international tourists who visited India from January to April 2023 was 166% higher than the same period the previous year.

He spoke at the fourth meeting of the G20 Tourism Working Group in Goa. “After Covid-19, our international tourist arrivals have increased. During the period from January to April 2023, the number of arrivals is expected to increase by 166% compared to the same period last year.

“Since ancient times, traveling to India has been a means of self-discovery, and India has always been a popular travel destination for people from all over the world. This has allowed people from 200 countries and diverse faiths to experience India’s cultural and spiritual heritage, as stated by Reddy.

Through the launch of the G20 Tourism and SDG Dashboard, a legacy has been established, according to Reddy. “Our government’s current priorities are the development of sustainable infrastructure to meet the growing needs of tourists and the promotion of responsible consumption and an environmentally conscious lifestyle among tourists.”
