Alaska Airlines and Air India, the top international airline in India, have formed an interline alliance. In addition to bolstering Air India’s global reach, the partnership will enable travelers from New York JFK, Newark-New Jersey, Washington DC, Chicago, San Francisco, and Vancouver to effortlessly connect to and from 32 locations across the USA, Mexico, and Canada on Alaska Airline’s network.
Bilateral interlining, which permits both airlines to sell tickets on each other’s network, is included in the agreement’s scope. A Special Prorate Agreement between the two airlines has also been reached, enabling Air India to submit “through fares” for routes that traverse Alaska Airlines’ network. On Alaska Airlines routes, passengers will additionally benefit from Air India’s complimentary luggage allowance.
“The partnership with Alaska Air will increase our international footprint in the US and Canada and even extend our reach to Mexico boosting our network expansion plans,” stated Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer, Air India. It will enable us to provide our visitors with more options and represent a major advancement in our goal to improve connectivity.
From Air India’s present gateways in North America, passengers will be able to connect to the following places on Alaska Airlines’ network:
Portland, San Diego, Seattle, and New York JFK.
Los Angeles, Portland, San Diego, Seattle are all near Newark, New Jersey.
Chicago: Boise, Portland, Seattle, and Anchorage.
Washington, DC: San Diego, Los Angeles, Seattle.
Salt Lake City, Orange County, Tampa, Anchorage, Austin, Boise, Boston, Bozeman Yellowstone, Dallas Love Field, Reagan National, Fort Lauderdale, Spokane, Honolulu, Jackson Hole, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, Missoula, Montana, Kahului, Seattle Paine Field, Portland, Phoenix, Palm Springs, Redmond, San Diego, Seattle. San Francisco’s score is 26 points in the United States and 6 in Mexico.
Mexico: Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Loreto International, Cancun, Los Cabos, and Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo.
Vancouver: Seattle Air India presently offers 14 non-stop flights from Delhi to Toronto and Vancouver in Canada each week in addition to 47 non-stop flights from Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai to five American cities: New York, Newark, Washington DC, Chicago, and San Francisco.
