As VisitBritain organizes its first trade trip to India in over three years, British tourism trade and industry suppliers will showcase why Britain is the must-visit destination for customers from all around India.
Dozens of British industry suppliers from various countries and areas will meet with 75 leading Indian buyers for business at Destination Britain India, which is scheduled to take place in Delhi from November 1–21.
There will be thousands of prearranged one-on-one business contacts over the three-day trade show. Hotels, shops, tour operators, tourist attractions, transportation companies, and local destinations from all throughout Britain are among the suppliers scheduled to attend.
“We are thrilled to be hosting this flagship trade event to India again, a timely and valuable opportunity for British tourism suppliers and destinations to get their products in front of top buyers, driving bookings to Britain,” stated Patricia Yates, CEO of VisitBritain.
We know there is a repressed desire for travel, and India is one of our most significant inbound visitor markets. It also has excellent airline connectivity, even to rural areas. It is essential to collaborate with India’s travel industry to make sure they are prepared to market Britain and to expand travel options in order to entice guests to extend their stay and do more exploring.
In order to learn about the most recent industry trends and developments, delegates will also get the chance to network with members of the Indian trade at networking receptions and attend product seminars from companies including Visit Cumbria, Marketing Manchester, and West Midlands Growth Company. Additionally, VisitBritain will be highlighting its GREAT Britain “See Things Differently” campaign, which highlights the novel and fascinating experiences that are available and encourages tourists to come now, travel throughout the year, and see more of Britain.
Indian tourists broke records in 2022, spending GBP 764 million in the UK—a 2% increase over 2019 levels. This expansion has persisted through 2023. By 2024, the inbound tourist market from India is expected to reach GBP 1 billion, making it one of the largest tourism markets in the UK with the quickest rate of growth.
Strong recovery and expansion are also being seen in airline seat capacity from India to the UK. When comparing September 2023 to the same month in 2019, the number of seats was 53% higher.
VisitBritain is promoting Britain’s exceptional tourism offer and unique experiences that visitors can only have by working closely with industry and market partners in addition to its Destination Britain India trade mission.
